Frequently Asked Questions

Try Dives are £25, Tuesdays 7.30pm - 9:30pm. We meet at the Waterside Centre and head over to the Spectrum swimming pool shortly afterwards where you will spend between 30 to 60 minutes in the pool with an experienced qualified instructor and experience the thrill of breathing under water. The initial qualification level is BSAC Ocean Diver. There is a £100 joining fee for club membership which includes the training manuals and use of club equipment while training. There is also BSAC membership fee of £57.50 per annum and club membership is £15 per month.

There are 6 classroom lessons, 5 sheltered water (pool) lessons and 4 open water lessons, plus a theory and swimming assessment. Training can be organised in different ways, but we typically run 1 classroom or pool lesson a week and complete the open water lessons over 1 weekend, making 12 weeks in total. As soon as you join the club we will team you up with an instructor and commence training.

We also offer try dives for £25, and should you decide to join we will refund the try dive fee.

Guildford Sub Aqua Club offer training to anyone aged 14 or over, however anyone who has not yet reached their 18th birthday must to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Sure, if you haven't been diving for a while and need to refresh your scuba skills we're happy to help. A refresher session is £25.00, Tuesdays 7.30pm - 9:30pm. We meet at the Waterside Centre and head over to the Spectrum swimming pool shortly afterwards. Send us an email to arrange.

You need to achieve one of the qualifications below:

  • CMAS Three Star or equivalent which includes
  • BSAC Advanced Diver
  • PADI Dive Master
  • HSE Scuba
